Crann Draíochta / Magic Tree

This intricate drawing of a crann draíochta or magic tree was etched on a Copper-plate and printed on Hahnemühle paper. This is a magic tree based on myth and legend. It is loosely based on an apple tree, or it could be a Hawthorn. It is imagined and fantastical. I began this etching in a master class with Niall Naessens in his studio in Cloghane. It was then editioned on an art residency at Cill Rialaig Artist Retreat in Ballinskelligs.
