A fun exploration of wildflowers. Some of these flowers are native and wild, and some are domestic garden plants. I love how you can find a mix of everything in the ditches of West Kerry. A bit like ourselves we can be domesticated and wild inside. Pops of graffiti paint pen give this piece a secret urban edge too. I really enjoyed the softness of the graffiti pens mixed with the intricate detail of the ink and pen work on the soft Fabriano paper. This painting began with a wander through the fields and then I brought a bunch of flowers back. Sometimes when you are working on a laptop it helps to take a wander and gaze into a thicket of brambles! It’s so relaxing on the eyes!
The mixture of chalk dust and primer on this artwork creates an almost porcelain China feel. See if you can spot the hidden wren who has been gently pushed back. There are gorgeous textures and delicate details, light, and shadow in this painting.
