Original paintings and small release prints
My paintings begin with looking, returning to the same beaches over and over and noticing the small changes. I am interested in shallow water, in the way the light moves across wet sand, and in the patterns left behind as the tide goes out in West Kerry. I build each painting slowly, layering paint. I work on wood panel, allowing the surface to hold intense detail and softness at the same time. These pieces are not exact records of a place, but a way of holding onto a moment felt within it. Prints made from some of my favourite original paintings are created in small batches and are hand signed. They come mounted and ready for a standard-size frame.
